Context: We brought together 60 marketing leaders (many newly promoted) for a two-day offsite focused on strategy, trust, and alignment. The goal: turn 60 individual departments into one united leadership team.

When leaders align as a first team, clarity cascades. The alignment at the top became the foundation for how 300 marketers worked, communicated, and delivered results.

The Challenge

The marketing organization had ambitious goals but no shared roadmap for how to get there. Leaders were new to their roles, priorities were competing, and confidence in the bigger picture was low.

Without alignment across marketing leadership, 300 team members were left navigating mixed messages and shifting priorities.

We needed to unify direction, build trust among peers, and create a plan leaders could actually execute.

The Solution

I designed and facilitated a two-day leadership offsite centered on both strategy and connection, anchored in Patrick Lencioni’s First Team concept, which emphasizes leading as one cohesive team rather than separate departments.

Together, we:

  • Defined shared outcomes and success metrics for the year ahead

  • Facilitated OKR sessions to align priorities and measure what matters

  • Led team-building sessions focused on trust, communication, and accountability

  • Partnered with CMO to clarify expectations and decision rights

  • Created follow-up playbooks and next-quarter priorities to sustain alignment
